I'm planning a weekend to vegas but noticed the hotel prices are unusually high for the weekend (arriving 4/27 leaving 4/29). Just wondering if anyone knows why rooms at an average 3 star hotels are like $200 a night. If there's something cool going on, I'd love to know since I'll be there anyways. thanks!

The last weekend of April every year, there is a huge harley run to Laughlin Nevada which is just over an hours south of Vegas. River Run causes hotels for all surrounding areas to be jam packed. There are sometimes in excess of 25000 Harley riders in the area during that week.

Probably because there are a lot of conventions and it's a great time of year to go to Vegas.......doesn't get real hot like in the summertime. In April, the temperatures are in the 70's or 80's. In the summer, the temperatures can get over 100 degrees F. This is a peak time to go!

Rooms are starting at $59, 1 mile west of strip, across the street from The Rio and The Palms. Book early, busy in Las Vegas because of the Harley run and nice weather!

Probably because cinco de mayo is just the next weekend from then and people want to spend a week partying it up. Just a thought. : )
