If global warming is adversely influencing people's pocket books it will be an important election issue. People vote their wallets and unless there is a clear connection between global warming and economic upheaval in two years, global warming will not be center stage.
Instead I think we're going to see the right deliberately steer away from issues of consequence and engage in name calling and character assassination. That seems to win elections for them.

I would rate it as important. If the crazies who think Global Warming aren't stopped, we won't have our economic golden age (see: "The Great Global Warming Swindle").
I'd rank it up with ending the war and defeating Socialized Medicine.

Very important, recycling is the way to preserve the world. Recycling water and other waste can save on raw materials and manufactured goods. That's why every nation is for an end to global warming, http://www.voteprimous.com

I rate it very high if things do not start to change very soon then by the time we start to fix the problem millions of people all over the world could be displaced.
I think of the future generations of this world and not just the money we can make right now by destroying the earth.

Since we (U.S.) contributed to this factor, we should be involved heavily. We should be trying to educate the world, like China, about the effects of burning coal, or teaching them how to do it more effectively. What chemicals not to put in the air, etc..

I'd put it in 3rd place, behind getting our troops out of Iraq, & getting the cost of Health Care under control.
