If he is on probation it is very likely that will be revoked and he will go to jail because of that. Usually when you are on probation you are to stay out of trouble. Being in a group where a stabbing takes place, is not staying out of trouble. Sorry.

He was on probation and he got into this incident?
Yes...he is going back to jail when they catch up with him.
Even if he didn't stab the guy.
I am assuming the group he runs with are not BOY SCOUTS.
Do the conditions of his probation restrict the people he can associate with?
At the very least...he ran afoul of the conditions of his parole.

Unlikely, but he should get a lawyer no matter what. He was at the wrong place at the wrong time - with probation, that might get him in trouble.

If he is identified as being involved in this conflict, yes. He can be charged, more than likely, with manslaughter, or if vigorously prosecuted, 2nd Degree Murder. To benefit himself, it would be best if he turned himself in and make a deal, and he might do better by himself.

yep, part of being on probation is promising to be smarter than that. hes obviously not reforming his life at all. the judge will not be merciful.

it will depend on what his side of the story is.
who started the fight?
you always have the right of self defense if you are attacked.
but, if you put your self in a situation to be knowingly attacked
that does not help your case.

If they prove he stabbed the person and caused his death, I would say so.

He shouldn't if he was not the one that stabbed him and can prove it.
