I'm fair skinned (with pink undertones) I have blue eyes, and blonde hair. I want to do the "smokey eye" look, what colors should I use, and what techniques?

I am also blonde, blue-eyed with fair skin coloring...and I disagree with anyone who says you can't wear dark colors! You just need to know how to do it properly. When I do smokey eyes I usually use black or dark brown liner and either shades or grey, brown or plums for the lid....Bobbi Brown makes a great book about make-up techniques and one of my favorite shadows for the smokey eye is NARS NightFlight - just be careful b/c its charcoal based and can make a mess if you don't know what you're doing!
I usually use it as powder liner along the lash line and blend it well on the lid, darker toward the outer corner and lighter toward the inner...and don't forget a good highlighter on the brow bone (cream or pearly light shades work best) Other great colors to try: NARS "Lulu" paired with "Party Monster" (can use Lulu as liner as well!) MAC "Texture" is a nice brown shade for smokey eyes that works well on blondes. Have fun!

personally... the darkest you should go is a really dark brown..black would just make your eyes go REALLY noticable.

I did a black smokey eye look on my finnish aunt (typical european ICE BLUE eyes and really blonde hair ) and it was "okay" . Her eyes just didnt connect with the colours.. it looked horrible cos it was in the day and we were just going out shopping so it wasnt appropriate.

however if you ARE going to somewhere really classy at night. you CAN (caaaannn try) do a black smokey eye look. just DO NOT put too much black.. it actually depends on how much and how well blended and done the eye makeup is. The highlight on your brow bone (personally ) is the most important part do not leave home without it ^-^

I dont really know what you mean by techniques but i guess you should blend more of the lighter colours.

bottom line:
I'd strongly recommend neutral earthy tones that would compliment your skin tone, eye and hair colour if youre not going to anywhere really classy and formalish

but if you do want to try black you actually can. but it requires really high skills. try it out at home. i mean makeup is also requires lots of experimentation so i'd suggest to you to actually try on different looks. also, try the SAME colours just different blending techniques. Smokey eye look is all about the blending.

At the end of the day you are the only person who could say "this is right for me" cos really.. makeup wont look as good if you dont put it on for yourself. and seriously thats pretty true...

you should use a semi dark brown or bronze (shadows with orange tones cause blue eyes to pop) color along the crease to create and in the corners of your eyes to create the "smokey" part of the look, and then use a lighter color right above your eyelashes to make the darker color stand out more. Use a dark brown or black eyeliner on the top of your lashes and the inside bottom. Try to go a little past your eye with the liner to give a cat eye effect but dont go to far, just a little bit. Then use a mascara to match your eyeliner on both the top and bottom lashes.

Use a gentle black or brown eyeliner and tone it down with assistance from utilizing the top of a dismal blue eyeshadow applicator to flow over it with once you note it w/ the shadow, reason darkish blue over the eyeliner will accent your blue eyes with out that 60's blue eyeshadow seem. The shadow definitely creates the smokey seem more advantageous powerful than in simple terms eyeliner on my own. also, position a darker burgundy/violet color of your eyeshadow in simple terms in the corners of your eye w/ a touch more advantageous in the route of the crease of your eyelid on the periphery. Then upload a frosty or metallic lighter colour like pink, white in simple terms in the middle as a lot because the crease it is going to improve your corners and make your smokey eyes pop with organic eye colour. i do not propose utilizing any reds, because i imagine they make you appear like you're hung over and your eyes are bloodshot because it brings out the tiny little pink veins you frequently do not note till you're wearing it in case you probably did not sleep strong the evening formerly.

silvers, and browns work well. the color of your lashes matters alot too, i have pale skin, blonde hair and blue eyes, but black eyelashes so i can get away with darker colors. you can always go to a make up consultant at the makeup counters in macys and nordstroms, they always have great advice.

pastel colors dont go for black because it will counter against your light skin and make you look deathly and sick and just plain awful. gold is nice silver would be perfect for you it would enhance your beautiful eyes. emerald green, aqua...etc. just remember stay away from DARK colors. :] best of luck.
