Definitely. You can be a model for petites (anyone under 5'4"). People assume that you have to be tall to model, but that's only if you want to do runway modeling.

If you want to start, there are plenty of websites that have modeling contests, (Seventeen magazine etc.) and there's probably small local modeling agencies near you, just try looking in the phone book.

Not really. The top modeling agencies like New York Model Management and Ford only accept girls taller than 5'7. You can check by going to their websites.

As for print work, even then they prefer you to be around 5'7 or taller because the men you pose with are tall.

And runway...when you do runway, it's generally ONE dress the designer makes, JUST for that show. That dress is probably suited to fit a girl of the average model height. Why tall models? Because clothes look better on taller frames on the runway.

I don't want to be harsh, but it's reality. I do some modeling, but I'm only 5'2. I do catalogues mostly; that's where you'd fit in. Just don't try to make a career out of it. :)

For runway, probably not. Commercial though, through films, TV, and print ads, has a possibility. I am a talent scout for toospoiled.com, an international talent agency, and would love to have you signed up on our site. We cater to actors, models, dancers, and comics, and are branching out in the next few months to musicians and child talent as well. I have worked for internet sites before and will not waste my time on one that is ineffective. Joining is free and can be done during a commercial break, so no great investment is needed to join and start exploring the talent industry.

You have nothing but a few seconds to lose and everything to gain. All you need to do is log onto toospoiled.com (works best with internet explorer), enter my scout code STPE8759, and fill in the forms. It can be used as just a social site like MySpace and you can get paid for the ads on your page.

No, sorry. The emphasis in this industry is tall girls to showcase the outfit best.
