i was just thinking the other day...if one day i should decide to adopt, i would LOVE to adopt a lil Chinese baby girl. i am a HUMONGOUS *REALLY BIG* fan of Gwen Stefani...and her clothes line...Harajuku Lovers...i heard that the name "Harajuku" means Beautiful Flower in Chinese, but i also read that "Harajuku" is a place, not a name....but i still think its a VERY BEAUTIFUL name, and i would ADORE for my daughter to have that name.......
AND!!!...if you like the name, what is a middle name that would go with it????...it can be ANY kind of name...Chinese, Irish, Gaelic, American...wutever!!!....
But i DO need a pretty middle name...and im Irish, by the way...but any help will do!!...>THANX!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would think it might be somewhat insulting or at least appear somewhat ignorant to give your Chinese daughter a Japanese name.
If you did give her that name (or any name), I would strongly consider keeping her given name as a middle name to show respect for her birth family and not strip her entirely of her heritage.

Personally, I don't see the point in researching a name's "meaning" as it may or may not be true. Also, it could be far from what your baby really is.
Harajuku Teegan
Harajuku Camille
Harajuku Dessa
Harajuku Amaya
Harajuku Alayna
Harajuku Eliza(beth)
Harajuku Aurora
Harajuku Brielle
Harajuku Lyn
Harajuku Mae
Harajuku Loramae
Harajuku Alexis
Harajuku Jazlyn
Just a few suggestions.

You can make pretty much any combination of letters into a name. There are no "rules" surrounding what makes an official name. If you like it, go for it.
I think a nice middle name with Harajuku would be Rose.
Harajuku Rose

You heard wrong - its is a place in JAPAN and there is nothing Chinese about the word. The child you adopt of out China will be close too if not over a year old when you adopt and will already have a name that you could modify but it is very traumatic to change it completely so I wouldnt bother spending too much time on name choices now. China & Japan dont have that much in common other than that they are Asian countries.

You have the wrong information. My brother's wife is Chinese and I asked her and she said Harajuku girl is similar to prostitute, stripper, Geisha, dancer, sex slave etc. Sorry but I thought you should know. It is a place and that area was known for women like that so that is how the women got their name.

Actually, Harajuku is Japanese. It is a trendy district in Tokyo that is known for its outrageous fashions. It also has some connotations related to prostitution.

I think that's a cute name. I also think a simple but beautiful middle name would best suit such a complex and long first name. Something with an obvious pretty meaning.
Harajuku Grace
Harajuku Melody
Harajuku Star
Harajuku Kiley (if you want to go with your Irish heritage)

Harajuku Station in Tokyo, Japan is also known as "prostitute's alleyway." It is the Japanese equivalent of Rodeo Drive in America. So keeping all that in mind I don't think it is the best choice for a girl's name, but it's up to you, good luck!
