ok so my mom said the other day she would get me a new phone. but then she said a video camera would be better, since im going to california during spring break. idk what to get, a phone or a camera. i wanted to get a sidekick, well, cuz its a sidekick. but i also wanted to get a camera cuz im also going to D.C. for a field trip in about 2 wks..so what are your guys opinions? whats better? a phone? a camera? why..?
and if u pick phone, is there a phone better than a sidekick?

Well for serious photography, get a camera. But if you want a quick thing for snapshots, get the phone with a nice camera in in like 1.3 or 2 megapixels.
Since you are asking about the Sidekick, I take it you have T-Mobile.
Here's my advice: You would be better of with most other phones that the Sidekick. They are nothing but problems. Crap reception, lousy user interface (software), crappy build (feels like it's going to fall apart), and in my opinion hard to type on. I can type faster with a standard T9 phone pad than the Sidekick's keyboard.
I would recommend the Nokia 6133 or Nokia 5300.

I would get a camera. This way your memories can be kept for a lifetime. Also everyone has phone and if you ask politely enough they will often let you use it. I find carrying a phone is just one more of a pain that you don't need to have.

with wifi and GPS enabled

pick the phone cuz it has a camera in it. dont get a sidedork get a phone that has cool games because thats what really matters

get a camera phone they have a video camera in them and they work just like a video camera.and they have cell phone in them as well and lots of other things.
