It's like getting a massage of sorts. It relaxes you....destresses....you smell good, feel clean. You just feel refreshed. :)

It is because you are in the warm water. It is like wrapping yourself in a big blanket it just feels good. And the warmth opens you pores so the all the bad mojo can get out. If you really want to feel great try on of those eucalyptus things for the shower it will really open things up

One: water carries a negative ion energy while a lot of stressful emotions generate a positive ion energy in the body.
This is a physical thing, not some sort of 'new age' concept.
Two: water opens up your pores; it lets oxygen in and sweat out. Sweat contains adrenaline (which is also secreted in kidneys and lungs, but in large amounts through the skin).
Three: Showering, because of the last two items, makes you FEEL good, and people who feel GOOD don't have a need for anger.

It could be that the chlorine in the water sedates you, you know like when you get out of a swimming pool, you feel tired. The shower produces alot of steaming chlorine in which you inhale...that seems pretty logical to me!

y'know, the metaphysically inclined would say that the water running over you takes away the negative energy.
The physiological psychologically inclined would say that it releases hormones that cause your body to reduce the stress response
the psychologically inclined would say that it is soothing because its warm, and comforting and reminds us of good times in the past, and threats are reduced.
I just say - too much to think about - I enjoy them, and thats good enough for me ;) in fact, I think I might go take one right now.

It hydrates your WHOLE body...that means that your WHOLE body is happy as water is your largest component and that sends a message to your brain that you are better now than before your shower....it is an easy 'Pick me up'

Because its time for yourself where you can think, meditate or relax....the water massages your neck/back....and helps dissipate the tension. That's what makes hot tubs such a valuable investment!

Water relaxes. Why do people pay more to have an ocean view, because water is relaxing.
