We've always used simple glass cleaner. It shines the chrome, as well as dissolves any lime deposits (water stains).

I use windex. If it's chrome covered plastic, anything else will scratch it. If it's chrome plated steel, a chrome cleaner works well.

The best thing I have found is Shaving cream an we all have it an we all keep it. Apply with your finger tips an wipe off with a cloth.
