Yes, teething and low grade fevers (not over 100 degrees F) go hand in hand. The bodies immune system works over time as they teeth to fight off any possible infection from entering the bloodstream through open gums, resulting in fevers. Tylenol and some cuddles usually help ;)

Yes of course. There is pressure on the gum line which causes build up of blood in the obvious head region. If you have alot of blood rush to your head for some time you will eventually get the same symptoms. This with constant crying forces more blood rushing giving you the inevitable fever... We used infant tylenol specifically for teething fevers...

All my children got bit of a fever and really red cheeks when they were teething. Wait in 10 years they suddenly will find that conclusive evidence.

These pediatricians are morons. I have four kid's and i KNOW something happens with the immune system when a kid gets a new tooth. My kids would run a fever or have digestion problems . The doc's always told me it was unrelated but it happend all the time. I think they just say that because someone has failed to study it....who knows..trust your gut.

yes babies get FEVERS when they are teething. they are so pitiful. my family and i would wash our hands and try to rub the gums, freeze teething rings for them , and give them a little bit of children's tylenol.
and what is wrong with the Pediatrician? mothers and women who been around babies know that teething and fevers goes together unless your child is lucky

The answer is yes. They will have a fever because their gums are irritated and swollen. But usually not real high. Just give them Tylenol or ibuprofen and that usually helps. Both my kids went through it.

I don't know. I'm not a mother, but usually we get fevers when our bodies are fighting something.
Meh, ask me in about ten years and then I can tell you. haha.

yes. I had both my children in two different states. (with two different pediatricians) and they both said the same thing. Also, what to expect the first year ( the book) says the same information.
