The best way is to put a bowl of water (microwave proof) in the oven, watch it until it boils, then turn it off.

Leave the bowl of very hot water in the microwave for about 5-10 minutes. The steam will melt everything off, just wipe and I then spritz it with a window cleaner and dry out.

The best and safest way to clean a micro wave oven is to steam it with water. If you have a tray or anything of the sort just drop some water in it and micro wave for about 5 mins. You can also use ice cubes to steam it. I prefer just water because anything else may leave a film in the microwave. Steam water works fine. If there is a lot of buildup just do it more than once. Once steamed it will wipe right out. You may have to use a pointed object witha towel to get the cracks and corners if you have any.

Put a bowl of water in the microwave oven. Heat it 'til it boils, and then just leave the microwave oven closed for a few hours. The steam will soften the particles and make them MUCH easier to wipe off.

Combine vinegar and baking soda in a pan. Once it is done fizzing, spread it all over the microwave's interior. Let sit for 5 minutes and then wipe it clean.
