If you have downloaded firefox you should just click on the firefox icon when you want to use firefox, and just click on your internet explorer icon when you want to use it. It should be that simple, unless I have misunderstood your question. :)

The newest version of the Netscape Navigator web browser has the ability to switch between Internet Explorer and Firefox mode, like if a page won't run under IE, it switches into Firefox mode and tries to load the page that way.

Set the one you like better as the primary one. right click on an html file, go to open with, and tick on the 'always open with' box.

yes just check the default browser option on one of them..and whichever one is your default it will open instead of the other one.
firefox: tools>options
internet explorer: tools>internet options
