It drives crazy that While I am charging it, i get the stupid message "Do not disconnect"

Of course you can. I mean you can listen to it through your computer. Just open iTunes and your iPod's music library should be there.

If you plug your ipod in to your computer to charge you can not listen directly to the ipod while its plugged in. You can though open itunes and listen through itunes.

If you have an iHome, it charges and plays through the speakers at the same time, if you want.

right click on the ipods icon in my computer and click eject.then you should be able to play your music and it will still recharge.or plug into a wall instead.
