....I was told by the local VA Clinic that I wasn't entitled to
dental benefits...I know one person who told me the
VA provided his complete dental package including dentures...
..he is a Korean War Vet....and certainly deserves the best.
I just wonder why I don't.

The VA does not have non service connected dental benefits.

Dental is only provided to those who were former pow's and to people with service connected dental problems.

The only difference in veterans benefits between different era's are the different educational packages.

Health Care wise, there are no benefit differences between WWll, korean war, vietnam war, cold war, gulf war, or the current iraq and afghanistan war.

To the man that said the Vietnam vet don't have dental coverage. There is a form to be filled out that I got a full frontal upper permanent bridge installed, paid for by VA as a Vietnam vet. I also received a form to fill out in the case I ever needed work on said bridge again.

you need an advocate, contact the American legion, VFW, or other service oriented orgs. the va has a policy of denial and procrastanation. Advocates are trained and do this at no cost. As a disabled Viet Nam vet I recieves some benefits others don't, but I had to fight them all the way.

Sir,

You deserve to be treated for any medical distress suffered while serving. It frustrates me considerably that you are not being taken care of properly.

On the subject, I was highly angered when George Bush celebrated the 7% increase in vetran benefits his administration generated. While true, his administration has increased the financial burden by over 12%! He's celebrating a net reduction in money per serviceman!

Anyone who fights for our country deserves to be taken care of in the fullest way possible. That you are not recieving excellent care is disgusting. As a grateful citizen I am embarrassed, and apologize fully.

Vietnam Vets have gotten a shi**y deal from our government and american people from the git go. You should have everything and more. People forget that you didn't just decide one day to go to Vietnam and do your thing. They need to remember that you were drafted!!!!
My nephew is on full disability from that war. He was injured 2 times. BUT his disabilaty is from mental health, and he didn't get it overnight. He just got it last year because he has copd and has to wear oxygen. They questioned him for about 3 months off and on about agent orange, then all of a sudden they told him he will get a check, and full medical benefits. Go figure.

I just cannot believe Vietnam Vets do not get the same benefits. You might want to try again.

If that is true...HOW IN THE HELL CAN THE GOVERNMENT STATE YOU ARE NOT ENTITLED TO BENEFITS. If I remember correctly, you were sent to a foreign land to fight and kill the opposition on their own land. You were in a service to do it. They called it a war...a conflict...a war...a...forget it. You put your life on the line. That sounds like you should get benefits to me.

Again, the government makes no common sense...

Absolutely. You need to go over somebody's head on this. hey, I'm a lib, but veterans from any war deserve the absolute best treatment. You need to contact your senator and congressman right away.

The only reason I don't have to deal with those a88holes is because I lucked out and have good insurance.

Brother,I ain't got a lot,but if they won't help you,I'm sure there's enough of us vets here that can and will.
