its great, all my programs work, and the people who say its crap are those who don't have it

"it's harder to look for files" no, its has a new search function in the tool bar to find any program, email document, or folder...

Vista's great, but why trust us, try the demo thing for one month

Vista. some human beings say Vista makes use of up a lot equipment ram. that's real. Vista makes use of those ram to % up the computer. Thats why there is no longer a lot loose ram. Xp wastes those loose ram doing no longer some thing. Vista is even more beneficial nicely matched than XP than u imagine that's. Vista hasn't any problem to me for a million year already. Vista is faster at the same time as establishing application and starting up the computer. some human beings evaluate XP because they're too used to XP or they're gamer. it style of feels vista is slower in video games by ability of two-5 fps. No vast deal. VISTa!

I jist bought this computer 10 days ago, with Vista Basic. I like it very well! I'm coming from WIN98 mind you- and there's really nothing earth-shakingly different about Vista- but it does look neat; it is very stable (no crashes so far...); It works much more smoothly than earlier OS's as far as installing new hardware and software....it does what it's supposed to do, with no problems. The best features, in my opinion, are the new security features, such as the firewall (works great, and does not interfere or hinder what you want to do...you need not turn it on and off constantly) and Windows Defender. It blocks 99% of pop-ups, and lets you know when a website tries to run active-X or spam you with malware, etc. I don't use antivirus software (ran old 'puter 7 years...never a virus) so I feel that these security features are good, now that I'm running a modern OS. In short, I don't think I'd go out and buy Vista to upgrade a computer...it's just not different enough to warrant spending extra money on it...but if you're buying a new 'puter, and it comes with Vista, you need not worry...you'll like it. (Unless you have lots of ancient peripherals and software which do not offer updated drivers for Vista- My 4 year-old digital cameras' manufacturer [CANON] is not offering a Vista driver for my model (Bye-bye, Canon..I'll buy a different brand next time since you don't support your products) so I had to buy a card reader so I could download photos from this camera.....but overall, I am quite happy with Vista basic.

I've been testing Vista (Beta 1, 2, RTM) on various equipment at work for the last 12 months. Most people are suggesting 1GB of RAM but I would suggest if you have the money, your going to need 2GB.

At the Microsoft kick off, the presentation was done on a machine with 3gb RAM.

Using benchmark software, we found some XP to run faster with certain operations and the overall scores were so close
we're looking at not moving to the next OS until Vienna comes out in 2009.

The downside right now with VIsta, there are very few native applications for it. To take full advantage of the graphics, you'll need a high end graphic cards.

Windows XP is set to retire in 4/2009 and SP3 next year, I just don't see a reason to buy the OS for the home machines.

Most PCs will have their features doubled in 18 months. From my own stand point, I'm not looking at buying another pc until late next year. So instead of upgrading to Vista, will skip that and wait for the next OS.

I have not seen anything in Vista that has me saying I have to have that.

As of right now, I'm sticking with XP.

Well, this time Microsoft has upped the "pretty" factor, but I haven't seen a huge improvement over XP. I've only used Vista a little so far, but I do like the new layout and the new layout of Office 2007. Vista now doubles as a Media Center, but try to get the Ultimate edition for the best experience.

I just purchased a new computer two weeks ago that has Vista. My daughter who also has Vista, LOVES it. She's much better with a computer then I am, and has found alot of things you can do that you can't with XP. I think I prefer XP.

Its really amazing OS, when say the trail version, its great look and appearance, its totally differ from previous operating system means different kind of menus options everything.

This operating system need atleast Pentium 4 higher version and need minimum of 1GB Ram, from this you can imagine how much powerful OS is that.
