it may be data corruption or your security configuration is not right. first i would scan your comp for viruses and spyware. next check your drive for errors. if your using xp open my computer right click on c:drive click on properties. click on tools tab then click check now option under error checking tab. after all this try to get into your documents. if error comes up again go into safe mode and as administrator. in safe mode open my computer and go to c:documents and settings\all users folder. right click on documents folder and click on properties from the pop up menu. on the security tab youll see a list of users that have acces to the folder. you may not see any users and may have to add them. click the add button and in next box type administrator in the enter object names to select field and click the check names box. you might see a matching name or group name so just click ok to add the name to the users who can access the folder. do this at least twice, typing typing owner and system instead of administrator in the enter the object names box. click ok to save. hopefully youll be able to get in them now

boot in safe mode by tapping on F8 key after restart. Choose administrator account to login. Then change the user account type that you are using to one having administrative privilages. That should solve the problem
