I have scads of them, they are full, look new and I want to use them very badly. I am pretty sure they are all water-based ball point gel pens. There are florescents, milkys, metalics, glitters and vanillas. I would love to hear about some way to free up the gel ink and the ball rollers. Thank you all for the consideration of my question and any knowledgable answers.

Put them in a meat loaf pan with water the temperature of a hot bath. Test after 5 min you will have to do each one individually before you use it, cause it will just harden up again. You will get a bit of use from them this way but they will not retain their fluid state.

well, just move the tiny ball, scribble on a sheet of paper, press hard if you can. or if that doesn't work, unscrew the bottom, where the tip of the pen is and take the actual container that holds the ink and blow on the openside. don't suck, that would be bad. good luck, i used to love gel pens.

Try hold a flame to the ball for a short period of time.

I know holding a flame to the tip doesn't work. Once they have harden, I'm sorry to say, there is no reviving them.
