Make sure our troops get treated with the respect they deserve. Make sure they get the proper medical care or any assistance needed to help them on their return home. Provide support for the families who have lost a loved one. There is so much to do to support our troops because of the poor conditions that have existed with veterans medical care even before the war in Iraq. There has to be improvements, the neglect of our military medical needs can not continue as it has. So please, everyone speak out in support of better medical care for our veterans.

What I do to support my fellow Marines, is to send them gear they may not have or are in short supply of. I fly our Nations flag and the Marine Corps flag at my home. I will continue to do so as long as we have boots on the ground. Pray for never ending war? Thats an ignorant question. Governments start wars, soldiers fight them. Soldiers train for war and pray for peace. Sense our military is made up of ''We the people'', its our friends, sons, daughters , husbands, wives, mothers and fathers . That are fighting this war. So many do what they can to show our love ones over there that they are not alone and/or forgotten. Lessons learn from Korea and Vietnam. You can be against the war, but God forgive you if you want to take it out on the troops. Want to protest someone, protest the government (All of them, both Dems & Reps, one is just as guilty as the other, no matter how much finger pointing goes on). I do not support either side. I support those who have to do the dirty work. They don't get to vote on when and where they go to war / or for how long. They just say ''Yes Sir'' and go! To answer your last question: No , because I truly believe that the only way for the ignorant people in our society to learn is to ask stupid question like yours.

Well, my wife and I have sent care packages to the troops that are serving from our area. We also were part of a letter writing campaign, kind of an adopt a service person program. Each family writes on a regular basis to the soldier they have "adopted". We also helped some of the local families that have a parent overseas by cooking some meals and doing some light housework-dusting, dishes, stuff like that.
And no, this question does not make me mad. Most of the people that have signs like this are only giving "moral support", at least that is what it seems to our family as. Many people say they care but not many actually do something to show that they care.

I gather, from things I've read here on Y!A that "supporting our troops" means anything from giving Dubya carte blanche on the numbers of soldiers he wants to send to Iraq, to not wishing, hoping, praying and marching for PEACE!

I am so tired of being told that I am "pathetic" and "stupid" for not seeing the incredibly "terrorist-supportive" value of my sincere desire for an end to the fighting in Iraq.

Even though we went in there half-******, can't someone figure out a good wrap-up for this mess now? (They've had years to think of one!) I mean, the premise was flawed, but we're there now, and we've completely destroyed whatever semblance of "order" there was in the past--so what do we do now?

I want to see our young people home again and all in one piece! Is that not supportive?

I don't "hate" them, or think that they are stupid. They joined the military for whatever reasons seemed right to them at the time, and they HAVE to follow orders. It's their "boss" that I have a problem with! I just can't see how butting our noses into Iraqi civil matters, and trying to establish a form of government there that the people haven't even asked for, let alone "yearned" for, is helping solve the problem of "terrorism". So, I call that one as I see it. Once again: It doesn't mean I don't "support the troops"; it just means I don't support the orders they have been given!

And, no, the question didn't make me mad!!! (LMAO, 'cause I finally have something to write about...)

I think it's more of a way of saying: hey, you may or may not agree with the war, but don't take it out on the soldiers fighting there; they don't have a choice in the matter, and are pretty much just doing their job.

For example, I don't support the war, or the reasons we went to war. However, i don't dislike the soldiers or hold it against them that they're fighting in the war, because they're just doing what they have to do.

I do... it's my American and US Navy flags... it's the aircrew wings on my hat.

I write letters, send packages, and volunteer thru the USO. I also write to my Congressman (Tom Lantos), and my Senators (Feinstein & Pelosi)... telling THEM that I expect THEM to support the troops or lose my VOTE.

And yes, I voted for Senator Feinstein the last two times she's run... even though I'm a registered Republican.

I also enjoy taunting leftist college students at UC Berkeley... and no your question doesn't make me mad

I send care packages, donate generously to the USO, and go out of my way to thank anyone I see in uniform.

I was a military wife for over 20 years and a Family Readiness Group leader commended by the Army for my work.

My Husband is over there. i do no longer think of they might desire to cover it up that the lady have been given raped yet, i do no longer think a action picture could have been made similar to that. There are stable and undesirable people in this international, in basic terms like there is stable and undesirable infantrymen. no longer all infantrymen are hero's. in basic terms b/c they are struggling with for our united states of america dosen't propose they might desire to no longer could obey by the regulation. thank you for helping Our Troops. might God bless you and be with Our Troops!!

SUPPORT OUR TROOPS means: I don't hate the men and woman of our military for the war crimes of our president. Also if you want to make it more personal add this to the bottom of your sign:
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS:
NOT THE @$$ WHO PUT THEM IN THE LINE OF FIRE!
By the way this question is the most american thing I have seen so far!

you don't have to support bush to wish the troop well. and by supporting troop it could mean anything from sending supplies or letters to them from yes paying more taxes and joining a service to be there with them.
