Two questions:
a) I need a long-range hardware wireless repeater that can boost signals an additional 500 feet.
b) Would it be possible to bridge two wireless connections together through some sort of hardware device? For instance, how would one link a secured wireless network to a free open connection?

a)Is this indoor or outdoor? If indoor they have many range extenders out there, purchase one from the same maker as your wireless AP or router.
if it is outdoors, instead of a repeater it would be easier, and less expensive, if you just used a high gain outdoor antenna.

b)You answered your own question. You need to purchase a wireless bridge, but im unsure if you can bridge a secured and open network together, but if I had to guess I would say yes.

the 1st factor to do is examine your router's cyber web configuration application or consumer handbook to work out if it includes a function to develop the sign capability (ordinary on many routers). If there is not any determination, or it only does not help. the subsequent factor i will recommend is including one extra WiFi get right of entry to factor. this might inspite of the incontrovertible fact that require Ethernet cabling from the router to someplace close on your room. If there is not any ordinary thank you to end this, you have have been given to hotel to powerline networking that can use your latest electric powered shops as cabling to connect your router and computing device and/or get right of entry to factor mutually at any 2 places at your house of abode.

You just need AP (Access Point) to bridge the connection between AP and Router.

All APs must be the same brand & model.

b) configure the DMZ in the router
