Those fields are called leaching fields because they are designed for the effluent (liquids left after solids are settled from household waste) to flow through and soak into the soil. You don't want to prevent that - you want to ensure it. If they get clogged then either have tank pumped out or put in one of those biological products (bacteria starter kits) that encourages dissolving the clogging solids.
