I've sold several items in the last couple of months and I'm tired of leaving great feedback for the people who buy my items and I've bought from them, and not getting anything in return. Do I send them a message and ask them to please reciprocate and post feedback as well?

Certainly!
If you leave feedback but they don't, I wouldn't hesitate to send a polite email and ask for it!

Well it's not required to leave feedback, but for future items you send to your buyers, you can slip a little note in with their purchase, and mention something about leaving positive feedback, as you will do for them... something like that. I've received those notes in some of my purchases - and I always immediately log into my account and leave feedback - just because it slips my mind until the next time I'm in Ebay, then I see a reminder to leave feedback - which could be a week or even a couple weeks later. It's not that they're rude, but they probably don't go right in to Ebay again until they need or want something....hope this is helpful.
