To Nick P. I'm quite sure that you've never actually listened to more than five AFI songs. If there's anything about AFI that stands out, it's the fact that their sound is original (especially when STS was released). You can't pin-point what genre they are.

"The lyrics are vague"? Oh my. I'm pretty sure you've never heard anything before DU or STS. How's this for vague? "I don't wanna f*ck you. So f*ck you!"- Not a very "vague" lyric, eh?

They dress like girls? Who's "they"? What? Pants and shirts? If anything, it's only Davey that ever comes close to what you stated. Funny how you assume everyone here must like The Killers since AFI formed 11 years BEFORE The Killers.

To Jack H: Your comment had me in fits of laughter. "Just another pop-punk band hopping on the emo train" WTF?
"Pop-punk"? "Emo"?
You're the one who should research your sh*t before you comment on something you know nothing about. Anyone who knew what emo really is would not call AFI one. Emo is dead. It started in the 80's and pretty much died in the 90's.

"Just another band"? You make it sound as if AFI are new and "Just another" band. No buddy. They're not "just another band". This band has been hitting it in the underground hardcore/punk scene since the early 90's. It's only you that caught up with them, when you've only heard about them recently.

Oh and I own Full Collapse, War All The Time, No Heroes, You Fail Me and Petitioning. Yeah, I can stomach it.

afi used to be awesome. unfortunately they seem to be conforming to what the kids like to listen to these days, so theyre not so unique anymore... and i think just about everyones heard of them. but id recommend listening to some of their older stuff if u havent already!!!

lol...you got me in the mood to listen to some of my old afi cds now :)

yeah, i like old AFI better than the new. The new is more EMO, which i am not so into. if you are, fine. but it's just not for me.

yup yup love them!
too bad for all them queers who call them "emo shiit", theyve probably only heard 2 of their songs and judges them on their appearances on MTV or whatever.
their music and lyrics are so deep and meaningful, and they are a band who tries out new things.
it's fricken bout the music, not if Davey wears makeup or w/e.

Bleh. Just another pop-punk band hopping on the emo train, with absolutely no understanding of the style's origin or relevance. Go listen to Thursday instead...or, even better, Converge--if you can stomach it.
