Bush is running scared now that the Dems took congress.
He has his tail tucked between his legs whining like a whipped pup. The Dems have him where they want him now and I would say he is just a teeny bit afraid of the impeachment rumors that are probably being discussed by some of the top democrats. He also has made the GOP mad because of the shame he has brought to the party especially with the election coming up.
So now he (the decider) has "decided" to play nice and actually talk things over. The republicans naturally want to take credit for his sudden change of heart. How soon they forget that he said he would NEVER negotiate with the axis of evil. Wishful thinking. Oh yeah....and never say never

On some things the Democrats have made a difference. But he has totally thumbed his finger at Congress regarding the war. Now we will see 30,000 more troops for now. How many later? Let's just take every military person off every base we have abroad and send them to Iraq. That ought to please a lot of people. He's just goofy enough to do it.
When it comes to the election next year the Democrats will remind voters that Bush escelated the war and that some Republicans in Congress let him get away with it. Those who are up for reelection (all of the house and 1/3 of the Senate) may find they are going down in the largest Democratic landslide since 1967 when Lyndon Johnson defeated Barry Goldwater and ushered more Democrats into Congressional seats.
So let's hope the Bushies and their fans keep it up. It will be good election fodder.

I see your point! The democrats get into the majority and immediately start working on some NON BINDING RESOLUTIONS about Iraq and ole GW just upped and waltzed right out of Iraq. He also has said that he would actually veto some of this HS that the Democrats are passing. To be honest, where has he been "steered" ?

Hard nosed conservatives always think they are right...even when overwhelming evidence is right in front of them. Even as things slowly improve, the destructive conservatives will beat their chests and rail against it. Fortunately, they are a minority in the Republican party and, once Bush is gone, will be relegated to the shelf again.
As hard as it is to remember "when", before Bush came into office with his Christian Coalition, neo-conservative base, war-mongering cabinet; his "Homeland Security" and "Patriot Act", this was a pretty good country with good, optimistic people. I am confident that once he and his group of self-serving demagogues are gone, once again Americans will rise to the occasion and become a united country once more.
I have confidence in the goodness of the American people - all of them. We have been so distracted by Bush and his destructive policies, the illegal invasion of Iraq, Abu Gharaib, Guantanamo Bay and the tortures going on in those places - that we have lost sight of what really matters. Everyday there seems to be more and more corruption, lies, deceit, destructive policies coming from Washington we are overloaded with negativism. Hopefully, we will heal and become the United States of America again - not "red-states", "blue state", "left wing", "right wing", liberals, conservatives and will become "Americans" once again.

sure. i am going to admit that. heck i am going to come correct out and say that. for sure you realized we are no longer a Democracy. we are a constitutional Republic and President Bush replaced into elected in accordance with the regulations set down by ability of our founding fathers. so a procedures as recounts..there replaced right into a recount, there have been many recounts. In each recount Bush received. The State of Florida allowed the recounts to bypass on for the criminal era of time. i have self assurance that replaced into 7 days, yet may nicely be off on that huge form. Regardless, SCOTUS ruled that Gore might want to no longer illegally amplify the recounts more beneficial and President Bush replaced into declared the winner.

I think Bush is being shown the way. I think he will totally screw it up though and launch another war or two before we are rid of him.

The Dems are whiffing more than a National League baseball pitcher does at bat in a whole season.
