Just a suggestion about my tastes... i like TIME Magazine and from time to time i do read U.S. News. But I'd like to find out about some mags/journals about debate issues, interesting cases, etc.

addresses how debaters can be well read. Besides reading something like Time (which they recommend), they also suggest some monthly magazines. They state that the World Press Review is a good source for international events and also recommend The Atlantic and Harper's Magazine.

It goes on to recommend familiarizing yourself with social sciences, sociology, psychology, philosophy, world religions, political science, science, technology, liberal arts, humanities, business and economics.

To prepare you for debating, read up on all current events, new stories, etc... To prepare you for Legal Studies, you need to be well-versed in proper writing and research skills, understand history, and current events as how they will relate to legal issues.
