This happened a few months ago,we were all eating lunch 6th 7th and 8th graders when the teachers got so pist at the talking and messing around one teacher said were gonna go ahead and arrange everyone boy girl boy girl.

Then the cafeteria lady came up to that teacher and told her something which in my best guess was "that they coudnt seat boy girl boy girl in the lunch room"

is it true is it not permitted in public school lunchrooms to arrange kids boy girl boy girl in a middle school.

What about if they seperate race like one on these tables and one on the other tables?

This is in Texas btw.

Thanks

It might be a school policy, I've never heard of placing kids by "boy/girl/boy/girl" being "illegal". I've seated kids "boy, girl" and it doesn't really matter over here. I'm guessing that the lunch person might have talked the teacher out of it or something else came up at that time. Separation by race, on the other hand, would be illegal. That's called segregation.

You can do it by gender, but definitely not by race. Race laws are federal, so being in Texas wouldn't make a difference. Besides, the races need to live together in harmony. That takes teaching this to kids when they are kids.

Personally, I frown on putting the kids boy-girl, too. Not because of gender issues, however, but because of matters of social discipline and practicality. You don't teach kids to behave with one another by splitting them up. Middle school kids are still kids, but they are not babies. Besides that, I challenge the effectiveness of this practice. Now you just have the boys reaching around the girls to get to one another. The situation is potentially worse. What a dumb idea.

separation by race is a definate no-no, and it is just flat out wrong, just because someone has different colored skin it does not mean that they are different on the inside, we are all human, no matter what color skin we have. as for the boy-girl-boy-girl seating, that doesnt really segregate anyone in a bad way, but i can see some parents having a problem with it, just because some parents dont want their child dating or even touching the opposite sex for that matter, they might complain to the school board and get someone in trouble.

They don't have to do it by race because mostly white kids hang out with white kids, black with black kids and Asians with Asian kids and Latino with Latino at least thats how it is in my school.
