Here's a tip that works 75% of the time on any media release.
Read or watch only the last 20% of the story.
Let's say you're watching NBC Nightly News. Mute the TV for awhile and make up your own script. Talk outloud voicing your own opinion. Then unmute the tv when it looks like they
are almost finished. You'd be surprised that most of the time they finish what you were saying fairly well.
In print media, just don't read most of the article, and make up a story, then read the last few paragraphs. It will look like YOU wrote the whole thing.

Our mass media is run by people - and people generally have an agenda. The news can be spun in many ways, facts can be cherry picked to support a preconceived notion or conclusion by the writer, unreliable sources can be used, opinion columns can be masquerading as news, news can be reported without confirming the validity of the sources and people who only get their news from a single source will be the victims of this propaganda.
I believe the solution is get the facts and news from as many sources as you can and determine the truth for yourself.

Never going to happen. We are a nation of salesmen...it's what we Americans are best at and every media outlet is trying to sell you the version of America and the World that they believe you want.

Embrace alternative media on the internet. Fight proposed measures by monsters, like Newt Gingrich, who wish to censor the internet.

Simple, don't watch it and don't buy it. Let them start working for your money. They think they own you.
