It, certainly, is a great chicken, in all probability a crane. The group borrowed various great birds from a close-by zoo to make the wooded area set look extra alive and organic. The crane stretches out its wings in the midsection back of the set in basic terms as Dorothy, the Scarecrow, and the Lion start to bypass down the YBR making a track "we are Off to work out the Wizard" after the "beehive" run-in with the depraved Witch of the West. there are a number of rumors and city legends surrounding the action picture. This one is the main widespread, in all probability observed next by the concept the munchkins have been "little drunks." that concept replaced into unfold after Judy Garland cracked the shaggy dog tale in an interview. a number of them ought to have had somewhat temper, yet they weren't stumbling for the period of the studio.

It's an urban legend. People used to say a stage worker fell and got hung up in the scenery, but I'm pretty sure it's been debunked on more than one occasion.

There ISN'T. That's an urban legend. There is a large bird (a crane or heron or something) that was brought in along with other animals on the set, and at one point, during a scene, it spreads its wings. It's only seen in silhouette.

supposedly it was a producer of the movie and they didn't have enough money to take it out. or just like three men and a baby there's a little boy standing near a window in one scene, its just a way for hollywood to make more money.

i heard that it was the first tin man. he was allergic to the silver make-up and got really sick, so they replaced him. he got so angry he hung himself on the set, and shooting was so expensive that they didn't cut it out. I have looked, the wizard of oz is the best, i've never seen it.
