Can you please show the steps on how to solve these problems? I'd really apprecitate it.

x^(1/2) - (x-5)^(1/2)= 2

(3x+2)^(1/2)= 8(3x+2)^(-1/2)

(x-9)^(1/2) + 1=x^(1/2)

1. Rewrite the equation: x^(1/2)-2=(x-5)^(1/2)
Square both sides: [x^(1/2)-2]^2=[(x-5)^(1/2)]^2
Foil the left side: x-4x^(1/2)+4=x-5
Subtract x from both sides and subtract 4 from
both sides:
-4x^(1/2)=-9
Divide both sides by -4, then square both sides:
x=81/16

2. Square both sides: 3x+2=64(3x+2)^-1
3x+2=64/(3x+2)
Cross multiply: (3x+2)(3x+2)=64
I'll let you solve it the rest of the way. The
answer is x=-10/3 , x=2

3. I rearranged it. (x-9)^(1/2)=x^(1/2)-1
Square both sides: x-9=x-2x^(1/2)+1
Simplify: 2x^(1/2)=-10
Divide both sides by 2: x^(1/2)=-5
Square both sides: x=25

x^(1/2) = the square root of x

thats basically all you need to know...

x^(1/2) = sqrtX

if you square both sides of any equation, you can take away the (^(1/2))

then solve normally

(3x+2)^(1/2)=8(3x+2)^(-1/2)
(3x+2)^1/2 times (3x+2)^1/2=8
3x+2=8
3x=6
x=2
