I dont understand the x and y intercept yet this feels like a simultaneous equation to me. the 2nd equation is two cases the 1st one. So, 2(2x+3y) = 2(6) = 4x+6y = 12 So 12 = 12

2016-10-18 21:32:02 · answer #2 · answered by ? 4 · 0 0

2x + 3y = 6

subtract 3y from both sides to isolate 2x:
2x + 3y - 3y = 6 - 3y
2x = 6 - 3y

divide both sides by 2 to get the equation in terms of x:
2x/2 = 6/2 - 3y/2
x = 3 - 1.5y

Subtract 3y from both sides:
2x=6-3y
Divide both sides by 2.
x=(6-3y)/2
OR
x=3-(3/2)y

2x+3y=6
2x+3y-3y=6-3y
2x= -3y+6
2x/2=(-3y+6)/2
x= -3over2y+3
I am pretty sure that is right
