You can do anything you want! It might be frowned upon, or people might mock you for it, but it is like most things, in the beginning people are wary as they do not understand, however the more people do it, the more commonplace it becomes, the less of a deal is made.
Look at homosexuality over the past 100 years!
btw i agree with the point above, why can men go topless but women can't? ( i would but i might get arrested for indecent exposure!)

They can but they are too afraid their manhood would be ridiculed. All clothes and styling should be unisex. Clothing manufacturer's are missing the boat by not promoting more flexibility in men's clothing. The typical blue suit and striped tie or the jeans and T-shirt for men makes them look like robot clones. .
