Liberals are fond to cite the golden age of Clinton at every opportunity, but will not tolerate any discussion of their former commander-in-chief that is not controlled strictly by them. Why? Clinton is forbidden ground, because it is damaging ground for them. The Clinton era was a dismal failure; it is the very image of what the Democrats are about: mismanagement, corruption, and dereliction of duty. GOP corruption is usually about some form not processed in time or correctly, but for Democrats, it is Bill Clinton selling out America for his own short term personal gains. We don't need to cite Democrats stuffing 90K into their freezers, it is about Clinton refusing to ask the Saudi prince permission to interrogate terrorists they held, that the FBI begged Clinton to do. Instead, Billy saw the golden opportunity to hit up the prince for a donation to his library. That is the Bill Clinton of history the Left does not want you to speak about. Clinton was about raping, groping and moleesting women -while Enron and other company scandals were brewing, while turning a blind eye to Alqaeda. Clinton's legacy lives on in today's headlines of Sandy Burglar shredding top secret archival materials requested by a Congressional Select Committee. Imagine if Condi did that: Would there be any howls?

The above rant is straight out of the propaganda machine run by the very far right. Ever see the pic of George H. W. Bush bowing and scraping in front of the Saudi Royal Family? The Enron Scandal was in full swing. The CEO, Ken Lay, who The Shrub called Kenny Boy, of Enron was personal friend of the Bushies.

In 1998, many Republicans used the "wag the dog" characterization against President William Jefferson Clinton, as he tried to combat terrorism while fighting off a highly partisan impeachment scandal over his affair with White House Intern Monica Lewinsky.
During his tenure as Commander-in-Chief, President Clinton tried to bring attention to the problem of terrorism, giving many speeches on the issue. Those speeches did not get much attention in the 'mainstream' media. Former White House Counter-Terrorism Chief Richard Clarke, speaking on CNN's Late Edition on March 28, 2004, said "If you look, beginning in 1996, in his last four years in office, President Clinton gave about 40 speeches where he mentioned terrorism, five speeches that were devoted just to terrorism. He did a lot, but, frankly, if you look at the media play on those speeches, the media didn't pick up those speeches. When he made a speech on terrorism, it wasn't on the front page, it wasn't on CNN."
In 1998, as Clinton's impeachment battle raged on, he ordered the military to attack suspected terrorist targets in Afghanistan and Sudan.
When the United States and Britian launched Operation Desert Fox, a 4-day bombing campaign against Iraqi President Sadaam Hussein, GOP lawmakers called Defense Secretary William Cohen, a fellow Republican, up to Capitol Hill for a good tongue lashing about his Democratic boss 'wagging the dog.'
It is ironic that those same Republicans, who at the time accused President Clinton of acting TOO AGGRESIVELY against terrorism, now blame him for the horrific events of September 11, saying he did nothing to combat terrorism.

He was for 8 years. What do we gain by wasting our intellectual and emotional energy on the former president? Does it somehow mitigate the difficulties faced by the current administration??
It's not helpful. It's like arguing with my wife....you know when you complain about your visiting mother-in-law and your wife launches into a tirade about how much your folks suck...
It's just not helpful...

You can bash clinton... only if we can site examples of your leader allowing bin ladens family to leave the nation without interogation. Also, if we can site false reports of WMD to promote attacking a deserving yet innocent of the charge nation (I say deserving because saddam was a murderer). You can also bash him if we can use the fact that he was the first court appointed president. another thing, if getting a hummer is so bad, dosen't deceiving the entire country and starting a false war seem worse? I say it does. GEORGE W. BUSH WORST PRESIDENT IN THE HISTORY OF THE USA!. Oh, I am a military kid and have friends serving.. ..so don't call me a f@#$ing commie or liberal!!

Dredge up whatever you want to from the dusty old archives of debunked stories but the bottom line is still that the Clinton years were good years for everyone, not just a select few. Maybe you're just too young to remember that.
