Disneyworld is really a collection of Disney parks. When my husband and I were in Orlando a few years ago, we found the only way to really do Disneyworld is if we were there long enough to get a park-hopper pass (and we were not). So, we chose Universal and had a blast.

Disney=Love
Universal=dull
Islands of Adventure=ABSOLUTE HEAVEN!
You're talking about Orlando, right?
Anyway, yeah. Never too old for Disney. Magic Kingdom is amazingly cool, and Epcot is just phenomenal, especially if you know another language. Those employees at Epcot will just talk up a storm with you if they think you've a decent grasp on the language. Well, in the Italian section they will, anyway.
Universal is not that great, in my opinion. The rides are lacklustre, and every Floridian knows that you just have to bypass Universal and go to Islands instead, just like every American knows you don't pay face value for a new car.
Epcot boasts Test Track (awesome), Mission: Space (even more awesome--absolutely amazing), and Soarin' (gahhhh! Indescribable...truly a great experience--especially with the fast pass. It's so great to see yourself passing all those unfortunate souls! I'm just evil like that!)
Magic Kingdom has Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain, and everything in between.
Universal has a bunch of movie things and such, but not many rides...Islands is much better. I mean come on! The Hulk, Spiderman, etc. Islands is where it's at in terms of roller coasters, but if you are limiting yourself to just Disney and/or Universal, I'd say get the the park hopper and enjoy Disney--and don't miss downtown Disney, either!
Have fun!

universal is definately NOT a waste both parks there are extremely worth it...I have been to all 4 disney parks and both universal parks a couple of times and we are planning an orlando trip hopefully next year and plan on visiting all the parks again...I was reserching ticket prices and found you can get a 2 day/2 park pass for universal for i believe $85 and you can add a dining package for 20 a day which gives you unlimited food in the parks this is a very reasonable price...I wish disney would have something like that..definatley do not miss universal, and also there are alot more rides than rollar coasters...I dont do rollar coasters and i loved universal..it is also less crowded and easier to get from one park to the other (you can walk it) we spent 4 days at universal the last time and loved it

Definitely Walt Disney World. It's divided up into four theme parks and two water parks. Right there is some things to do for 6 days. There are many good rides, shows, and other attractions at each theme park. There are many nice resorts there too. Universal is just a bunch of thrill rides. If you wanted to go on them you'd wait in lines all day for different rides because ride lines are pretty long there. At Disney you can get a Fastpass and go do something else while you are waiting for the time on your Fastpass to come. Just start heading back to the ride about ten minutes before the time on your card. Then you will only have to wait about five or ten minutes to get on the ride. I would definitely choose Walt Disney World. Check everything out at http://www.disneyworldcom !

Not even close...Disney. If you have a spare day, Universal is an ok day trip but for how much they charge, I wouldn't really be in a rush to go again. But that said, I'm not a huge scary ride fan, and those are supposed to be pretty good there. I found the attraction rides to be ok but nothing fabulous and it didn't even take a full day to see everything (luckily we went drinking at the replica Pat O'Brien's outside...now that is worth a stop if you love the real one in New Orleans as much as I do lolol). But a few years ago one day there was almost 50 bucks. That's a lot to spend for what I described.
I'm a Disneyholic and don't recall EVER running out of things to do in the parks. So if you or anyone you are going with loves rides, then consider a day. Otherwise I'd just stick with Disney....much for fun IMHO, and I'd rather blow the money there lolol.

I am also going to Disney in a couple of weeks, and honestly we are planning a possible day trip to Universal. We have gone there before, and to me it really wasn't anything special for the price they charge to get in. Universal has more thrill rides by far, however if I was going for thrill rides I could go to Six Flags near my home or ride to Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH and save a ton of money and go on better rides. I go to Disney for the family fun, customer service and attractions I can't get at home. There is so much truth to the saying that Disney is a magical place. Universal has NONE of that kind of magic. My family chooses Disney.

I like Disney more too but i think it depends on what you're looking for. Disney World doesn't really offer any really thrilling rides that you would see at Universal. But i feel Disney offer much more to do. You could easily spend several days there because of the park's sheer size. But if you're looking for roller coasters and such, Universal might be the way to go.

Disney World DOES have non-childish rides, like the Rockin' Rollercoaster, Tower of Terror, Dinosaur, Mt Everst, etc. Rockin' Rollercoaster was fantastic, and DW was great. It had good food, lots to do, never got bored.
Universal Studios is fun too, but theres MUCH less to do there. We went on one rollercoaster 6 times, the Hulk. But they do have other good rides (mostly rollercoasters) etc.
Plus, Universal had MUCH shorter lines and way less people. I would suggest getting an expresspass, you can pass everybody in line all the time with this, it can be used as many times as you want.
You can only get one Fastpass at time for one ride only for Disney, and sometimes even the fastpass lines were long.
But I would have to say I liked both equally.

Disney, hands down. Disney is a resort, a place you can spend an entire week and still not have run out of exciting things to do. Universal is good for a few days at most.
