Isn't that not fair?

So who decides what's fair?
If you believe in evolution, that's the way things evolved. If you believe in creation, that's the way God created us. By the way, men are bigger (on average) but not necessarily more dominant. That may be a cultural thing. And may be unfair in many cases.

Hello J.B.,
I haven't given much thought to why men are more dominant, I'm not sure that this is even true except in superficial ways. It may be, you understand, I'm saying I'm not sure.
As to men being larger than women, we sure are. I don't know why this is. I mean, surely there are specific or maybe even chemical causes but I think you wish to know what purpose there is for it.
I don't know that there is a purpose for it so I cannot say why it is so.
I was prompted to answer because you also asked if this was fair. I don't understand why this would be seen as fair or unfair. I suppose you assume that being larger is better than being smaller. I also suppose you assume that being more dominant is a result of larger physical size.
Maybe, but I doubt that most women would fair much better if they were larger than they are. In fact, the desire to be smaller seems a prominent influence in a lot of women. Indeed, a lot of men seem to wish to be smaller. Not shorter, I hasten to add, but smaller.
I'm pretty sure that most women find a greater height than her's to be a desirable feature in a man. That is, all else being equal, women seem to want to be shorter than a man they might chose for a mate.
I might have missed the point here. If so, I beg your pardon.

You must be living in a different culture than most people in the U.S. Although when I see men in other cultures most of them are pretty small. Are you talking small in size or small in demeanor? I see a lot of cultures today such as the ones that seem to dominate the news today and those men seem to be small in size and demeanor. Men that are dominant over women are men that are ignorant and small minded.

because that's the way God created them( I am talking about physical size not dominance)

He created them for harder physical work than women, whereas He created women with more abdominal strength since we have to carry heavy unborn babies around for 9 months.

Just because they are bigger and stronger does not mean all men are dominant over women.

Mother nature made it so...something to do with hunting on an animalistic level I think. Fair? Very little in life is fair. If life were fair Elvis would be alive, and all his impersonators would be dead.

im asian, i too know what it feels like to be treated as minor, inferior and unintelligent, and im a man. so i go through the same differential treatment as you, it is men who get power and control and a big ego that become domoinant, and feel as if they are bigger, not all men.

Nah, it's that aggressiveness that causes them to have heart attacks earlier and we live on! Woo hoo...

What's fair? Let's say tomorrow aliens attack the earth and kill us all, is that fair? Who would we complain to?

Maybe because the design of women is to have a certain role in society or life...that of nuturers...caretakers...etc...

It's not fair, but being smaller and submissive has its disadvantages, too. *-)
