Well; I have my boot device setup listed as booting from the cd/dvd drive; but after displaying the 'msi' boot screen; now when I have my Windows XP Pro SP2 disc in the drive and I try to boot from it; it says this: 'Error Booting from CD/DVD Device...Press Any Key to Reboot'....

..Well; after 'pressing any key' ; it just restarts and keeps bringing me to that screen.

Do I have a faulty drive or what do you guys think?

Hmmm... Can't figure out how to post a question once either. :)

Could it be that the disc you're booting from is damaged or not bootable? Doesn't sound like the drive is bad. Once booted, can you read data from the drive?

Sounds like a Windows XP Pro SP2 UPGRADE disk...which you cannot boot from.

Hi. Check your BIOS settings. You can control the boot sequence in most BIOS setups. Make it look for the DVD drive (or CD-ROM) first.

Your disc may not be a bootable one!
