Do you think we are making our society androgynous by using names that are either or names? Do you think it is helpful or harmful?

I don't know if names are the causing the androgyny or if they are a result of it or if it's all just a meaningless coincidence but it is definitely happening.

Naming practices change quickly, by generation. I think it is some ill informed new age idea that will have the effect on people that most of these ideas do; none. You can not " make " a society androgynous, unless you could reverse the evolved heritage of our species.

I wouldn't say we are striving towards androgeny, but it is annoying in the business world. If you haven't met the person or spoken to them, it makes it awkward to properly address a letter or email.

define an "either or name"
Are you referring to birth-given first names like "Pat" or "Taylor"
or titles like "Mailperson" instead of "Mailman"
