Because if the bus would get in a rollover accident, you would be stuck with the same person. Without them, you could end up with a hotty. DUH!!! Do I have to teach you everything??

Shouldn't school buses have the same safety features as cars, trucks, and SUVs?
Well, not necessarily. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration argues that seat belts aren't the most effective way to protect passengers on school buses. Instead the big yellow beasts employ something called "compartmentalization."
Think back to your days on the good ol' school bus. Remember how those rigid green seats were wedged closer together than on even the cheapest no-frills airline? That's compartmentalization in action. Sitting in "strong, closely-spaced seats that have energy-absorbing high seat backs," passengers are effectively protected from crashes. Of course, the method can't prevent all injuries, but the NHTSA argues it's the best possible solution. Several studies have shown seat belts would provide "little, if any, added protection."
School districts are permitted to add seat belts to buses, but they also must make sure the seat belts are used properly. And as anyone who's ever ridden on a bus full of elementary school children knows, that's no easy task.
Even so, plenty of folks feel seat belts on school buses should be mandatory. The National Coalition for School Bus Safety believes compartmentalization doesn't protect against "rear-end, lateral and rollover collisions." And they contend that seat belts are affordable, even for cash-strapped school districts.

Well most buses do not have seat belts avialable to use. So people do not wear seat belts on buses.
I think that buses both school buses, commuter and tour buses should be required to install seat belts. But the school system out near where I live tried some years ago and it failed because most of the students riding the buses tore up the seat belts. Should have made their parents reimburse the school system for their vandalism.

They are not on school buses simply for the fact that the counties don't want to spend the money to retro-fit the bus. This is a serious dis-service to our children. If they have to be belted in a car then they should be belted in a bus.

because of US statistics showing that buses RARELY RARELY get in accidents so they're like. eh, forget it... it has to do with bus productions too. Old buses have 'em, I remember them in my elementary school and newer buses don't.... but since that incident, they're considering enforcing a law on buses to have seat belts.

Neither. I definitely have a strong source for proper right here assistance. it really is 80 circumstances a lot less in all probability that a baby will die in a school bus than in an vehicle. for this reason it really is unwise for oldsters to grant their youthful ones a holiday to college in inclement climate. The bus is safer. The again of a seat in a school bus is designed to soak up the flexibility of a ahead collision in this kind of way as to cut back the possibility of being injured. even if the possibility of knee injuries is more advantageous. even as seatbelts are in use the shape of knee injuries flow down dramatically even if the possibility of head and neck injuries are extreme because of how the body is held in position even as the better torso strikes ahead. Neck injuries is often more advantageous deadly. for sure we are talking about a 2 aspect lap belt. there are possibilities accessible for 3 and four aspect harnesses that should be more advantageous powerful for a childs safe practices. those at the instantaneous are not in use because they are more advantageous extreme priced. My opinion is one in all many yet in my opinion i think that 2 aspect seat belts are in simple terms as risky as no longer wearing one in any respect. in case you want your little ones to be even safer than they already are push for 3 aspect seatbelts. yet they are fairly darn risk-free already in a schoolbus as long as they stay seated the way they are meant to. regrettably I definitely could trust Malcolm G. i'm American and it makes me ill that folk imagine that the reason behind each thing is both by way of Republican or Democrats. in the journey that they both proceed to do the stupid crap they have been doing we opt to refresh our administration and enable them be conscious of the reason why the are there. To be public servants no longer ability mongers.
