A cowboy is someone that makes their living working with and around cattle. This is done from horseback. There are still lots of people that are entitled to that name. We here in Texas as well as other states still work cattle from horseback. There are want to be cowboys that only dress the part. The people that participate in rodeos are also cowboys. But just because you can ride a horse doesn't make you one.
