Let it go easily. Little by little just start separating your self. I was in the same scenario as you. But my friend was also extremely controlling. I just decided you know what, this isn't going to work out. And i just started to get closer to my other friends and do other things with different people and we just slowly separated.

Don't let her get to you. Try to stop being her friend. You just have to stop hanging out with her and talking to her. But I'm not telling you to ignore her. Just talk to her only when she asks you a question or when it's really necessary. I hope it helps!

Don't give much thought to her and her pettiness. She apparently thinks she is way more important than she really is if it is necessary for her to be so fake. Show her she isn't. Don't give her the time of day.
