I am transfering from a community college to a four-year college for fall 2007. I have been accepted at various Cal State Universities and UC's. I want to major in two fields that are not alike. I only cited one major on my applications. I wanted to know can I attend two different four year colleges at the same time with different majors? Or is it better to double major at one campus? And how do I add the other major if I didn't select a double major on the application?

You can attend 2 schools at the same time. But why?

If you enroll at one school then you can add another major-

or better yet, you might want to think about this:

Major in one subject and do a minor in the other subject at the same school. You will finish faster and probably do better in school if you are focused in this way.

You could attend two different colleges simultaneously, but it would cost extra money, and require a lot more time and scheduling to drive in-between the colleges. You'd be better off double-majoring at a college that has both of your majors. As for whether or not you can do that if you only put one major on your application, it's okay. You'll have to fill out some paperwork, and possibly apply to be accepted into the department of your second major, but people do this all the time, and it won't throw the college for a loop. In fact, you'll probably have to fill out additional paperwork confirming your first major anyway.

Good luck in your college experiences.

It doesn't make sense to attend two schools at the same time because you will have to take GE classes twice. You can try to transfer credit from one university another but you are supposed to get permission before you enroll at a second school.

Once you get to your school, you can file for double major. In fact you can change your major any time you want. Some impacted majors may have a pre-screening procedure or may not be accepting new students. Make sure to find out before picking your school.

Go to one college and double major. Talk to your advisor and you can change/add it as another major. I wouldn't want to pay double tuition.
