No! Because if i wanted a different slant on the news then i'd find a different web page. All of the media is biased - because it is run by humans who are biased. Wasting time getting offended because another human doesn't share your view is pointless and childish.

A real problem with the bias in the media is it has severely affected what is going on in Iraq. Many military people I talk to are amazed at how different the evening news is compared to what is actually going on. It has also caused the military to fight with two concerns: the people shoot guns and the people shooting film. Every bit of bad news is reported and even magnified and almost nothing of progress made is shown.

It seems many journalists get in the business with the idea they are there to "make a difference" and or improve the world. (I thought reporters were supposed to present facts) They tend to slant the news based on these ideals. A great example was the other day from a distance I saw a headline titled "IRAQ MESS". The "mess" part should not be part of this banner as something being a "mess" is strictly an OPINION and NOT necessarily fact. The media is also very good at slanting a story based on what they omit. The media (along with Democrats) positioned the President and the federal government as primarily responsible for initial failures in responding to Hurricane Katrina. The press seemed to omit the fact that there are laws on the books specifically forbidding federal intervention without the state's approval. The governor's official legal request (and her initial desire NOT to have federal troops in the streets of N.O.) got almost NO coverage.

Another example is so called "global warming" coverage which implies it is scientific consensus that man is a proven major cause of global warming. Although there are many credible naysayers, the majority of news coverage is given to theory of man made warming as "fact".

I must say though, Yahoo is not the only guilty party here...

Yahoo gets most of their news from Reuters, so it's really Reuters you're annoyed with.

I have noticed that their choice of headlines that they assign to the wire stores is distinctly left-leaning, but that's nothing new. Every organization has a slant one way or the other. You just have to get your news from multiple sources to get the full picture.

BTW, I love that someone said "wasting time getting mad because someone doesn't share your view is childish," or some nonsense like that.

We're talking about the news. It's supposed to be unbiased. Of course it's not, but the asker of this question wasn't complaining because "someone doesn't agree with her." She's annoyed by a lack of objectivity. That's a legitimate complaint. Don't be a fool.

I don't believe there is a "liberal" bias in Yahoo news.

Take this Gitmo guy who has come out and "confessed" for everything but the stock market crash of 1929, and the sinking of the Titanic... (I am heartened to see hear that not a lot of people believe the hype, I just saw a retired lawyer say he was taught, as I was, that "confessions" obtained under torture - the guy was 'water-boarded' among other things - are inadmissible)... anyhow, the Yahoo headlines Friday were saying "911 Mastermind confesses to attacks"

Not "alleged" 911 mastermind... no mention of torture in the headline, or that the military tribunal was closed to independent observation... this is a "liberal" bias???

I think what really offends Bushbot wingnuts is reality... facts... so when they see that facts don't match the bald-faced lies they are constantly fed by BushCo., they go all snakey.
