It's a semi-scam, if you can digest that! My daughter did the same thing. Her poem was quite nice actually. They told her it would be published, in a collection, in a "coffee table style" book, and she would only have to pay "la de da" for the book. She actually bought the book, and it's on the coffee table. Then they solicited her for more money and more money for I don't even know what all.

I found out about it, wrote a piece of trash 3 line nuthin' and they sent me all the same stuff. My poem was selected, etc. etc. etc. ad infinitum, ad nauseum.

Don't fall for it.
If you research that company online, you will find LOTS of info to support what I just told you. For free. Below is one of them.

I fell for it once, And yes I bought the book and the only good thing about it is I can show all my friends that I had a poem published, But if you do do it they will keep hounding you they will say your poem has been selected to be sent to such and such and you have been invited to read it in front of a large group of your publishing pears, And it doesn't stop with e-mails.

They run the contest to publish the book and sell it. Forget buying the book, but keep on writing, learn about real poetry markets, and keep submitting your poems.

Good luck.

They will put it in a book, with about 100,000 others and charge you about 50 bucks so you can show your friends that you have been published....if your poem is really that good, submit it to reputable poetry sites.

That's a common scam. It would help others here if you identified the name of the website so others could avoid the scam. Just wait until you get in college and get the letters saying you have been selected for Who's Who in American Colleges and you should forward your check for your personal copy. LOL ... I used to get them once or twice a month. C.

Yes, it's a scam. If you don't believe it, submit the absolute worst thing you can write. They'll offer to publish it - IF you buy the book.

Hmmm. Was it poetry.com? They make the same offer to everyone. I had to threaten them with legal action to get my poems OFF their site. They were posted without my permission.
