It goes into your clipboard... From there, you can paste it into an application like MS Word, Paint, or several others that will allow a graphic image.

If you're using Windows, pressing the "print screen" places a screen shot image in your clipboard, and it waits for you to find some program to paste it into... Think copy & paste, where you copy an image and paste it into Word or an email. a screen shot is a "copy" action, waiting for you to paste it. If you're using a Mac, and you press the "apple" button + shift +3 and an image file of your screen is created and sent to your desktop as "Pitcure 1.png"

if you take a screenshot of your desktop by using the print screen button, it will goes onto the clipboard.to use it open paint in the accessory(the simplest way to save it) and then right click and paste.then you will see the desktop that you've copied.then save it.by default paint will save to .bmp.save it to .jpg to save space.

you press "Print Screen" on keyboard.... This will copy screen to your "ClipBoard"
Just goto GFX program like MS Paint and simply choose "Paste"

All you have to do, is open an application such as Microsoft Word, or Paint, even, and hit ctrl + v. This will paste it, and therefore, let you see it.

your push "prtsc" or "sysrq" (on keyboard) and it will take a picture of your desktop and then you open paint and you click on "Edit" and click paste, save it where you want it
