Is that why I feel so GOOD? What are they supposed to do? These are the clear shiny pointed looking crystals. All sizes from little tiny to big as a watermelon. Is there really anything to all this?

You bet they do! A really good book on crystals and the esoteric properties of each crystal including spiritual, psychological, emotional, and physical effects, is "The Crystal Bible" by Judy Hall. You'll be amazed.

No they don't. You need to understand the definition of a crystal. Any rock you pick up has crystals. A crystal is just a "unit" of a mineral. Crystals are nothing special. The ones you see just happen to be shiny and look cool. Pick up a dull, boring rock. Look at it. If you live in a mountains, there might be some granite intrusions. Every piece of mineral in that rock is a crystal. They are not magical.

Well, the watermelon sized crystals have the power to make you money! Well, maybe depending on what kind of mineral it is.........anyway. I don't believe that crystals have any powers other than beauty. Whats making you feel so good is probably just living in fresh air where there aren't a ton a pollutants in the air and other chemicals.

Yes, some crystals have interesting powers.

Salt crystals have the power to enhance the taste of food.

Sugar crystals can also have a powerful effect on food and drink

Nitrogen tri-iodide crystals are unstable and explosive and powerful

Water crystals (called ice) can reduce swelling and make your drink so nice and cold

A CRYSTAL IS A NATURALLY OCCURRING OBJECT FORMED USUALLY IN IGNEOUS OR METAMORPHIC ROCKS ... OCCASIONALLY IN A SEDIMENTARY ROCK.....

THEY CAN BE SPECIMENS OF MANY DIFFERENT MINERALS PROB MOST COMMON ARE QUARTZ, FELDSPAR'S, BERYLLIUM, MICAS, ETC ...

SOME TALES DO ATTRIBUTE POWERS TO THEM BUT IT IS NOT SO ... NOW IT IS A FACT THAT THE EARLIEST RADIOS USED A QUARTZ CRYSTAL AS A TUNER TO PICK UP THE RECEPTION .... BUT THAT IS NOT HAPPENING WITH JUST A RANDOM CRYSTAL IN THE OUTCROP .... THE FACT YOU FEEL SO GOOD IS PROBABLY THE FRESH AIR GOOD FOOD AND EXERCISE YOU GET LIVING IN THE MOUNTAINS.... TAKE A CLASS IN GEOLOGY AND YOU WILL ENJOY THE CRYSTALS MUCH MORE AND REALLY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE ...

Practically speaking, if these are the correct type of crystals, you may be able to enhance you TV and radio signal reception through crystal diodes and other components! Being on top of a mountain also helps tremendously!

No, I don't believe that the crystals themselves have powers, but belief is a very powerful thing. If you believe strongly enough they might seem to have an effect on you... it's like a placebo effect.

YES OF COURESE THEY DO..
According to the purveyors of this crystalline pseudoscience, crystals channel good "energy" and ward off bad "energy." They carry "vibrations" that resonate with healing "frequencies," work with the chakras and help balance yin and yang. Crystals allegedly affect the emotions and can be used not only for physical healing, but for emotional problems as well. Crystals can not only help with emotional healing, but with self-expression, creativity, meditation, and the immune system. None of these claims is backed by any scientific evidence.

Today, crystal wands are used to heal auras in aura therapy. But one of the more egregious pseudoscientific claims regarding crystals is that, if arranged properly, they can provide protection against harmful electromagnetic forces such as those that are emitted from computer monitors, cellular phones, microwave ovens, hair dryers, power lines, and other people. The Bioelectric Shield was invented by a chiropractor from Montana, Charles Brown, who claims he heard voices in his head and had visions in his bed as to how to arrange crystals in the shape of a flying saucer in order to provide this protection. His bioelectric shields are sold for anywhere from $139 to over a thousand dollars. Cherie Blair, the wife of England's prime minister, wears one of these magical pendants. They are said to be "medically proven" and "based on Nobel Prize winning physics." Even if the claims about the protective power of these pendants were true, it would be necessary to envelop your entire body in one to achieve the desired result. By hanging a little piece of jewelry around the neck, you might be able to protect a small part of the throat, however.

The New Age idea that crystals can harness and direct energy seems to be based upon a misunderstanding of one of the more curious characteristics of certain crystals, namely, that they produce an electrical charge when compressed. This is known as the piezoelectric effect and was discovered in 1880 by Pierre and Jacques Curie. Other technological developments had to occur before the piezoelectric effect could be put to use, however, and it was not until the 1950s that the piezoelectric effect could be put to general use in record player needles and a variety of measuring devices. Nowadays, these devices "are used in almost every conceivable application requiring accurate measurement and recording of dynamic changes in mechanical variables such as pressure, force and acceleration."

The piezoelectric effect, however, does not give crystals healing or protective power, despite the claims of those who use and sell crystals in New Age and neo-pagan occultist shops. However, wearing crystals seems to give some people a feeling of protection. This, and their aesthetic qualities, seem to be the only virtues of crystal jewelry.
