I don't like this kind of music, seems inappropriate, but the kids want cool music. What is cool, but not rude and crude?

Get 'em that newish Drake Bell CD, "It's Only Time". Kids that age LOVE the "Drake & Josh" show on Nickolodeon, and it's a really good, upbeat album ... YOU will like it just as much as they will, I swear.

Hmm.. Yes, you are right, he is probably into rap. All rap is like that. When I was 6 I started listening to Lynard Skynard, especially the song "Sweet home alabama" :P. Mayby you can suggest him some rock music? Or like mayby like some some classics like the Beatles, Jimmy page, Led Zeppelin and stuff like that. I don't know if he might find that cool, but in my grade people find it cool, (preps dont though. lol) For rock mayby like, Plus 44, Foo fighters, The fray, Linking park?? Well, these are just rock bands.. I dont know if he will like it, I cant think of many that he might like and are not cruddy. But, I hope ive helped.

PS: Coldplay is also good! =D

My ten year old son listens to and likes the Beatles, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Cracker, Bob Marley, Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, Pearl Jam.... he actually does prefer this type of music over rap..... and as his dad, I get to rock with my son. I turned my oldest son on to music at about ten also and now, at twenty, he is one heck of a great drummer and guitarist... I hope this helps..........

It definately is crude, and many of the songs are SUPER nasty! I like classic rock, like the Eagles, Scorpions, and such. Country, but not the hillbilly country that everyone hates, modern country, like Tim McGraw, Garth, and even the girlies! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Christian Rock, because it is still the beats and awesome music, but it has a great messagae in it, and it is GARUNTEED to not have bad stuff in it. I love Hawk Nelson, Switchfoot, UnderOath, Skillet. There is also rock, like metallica, or RHCP, or other things like that. I used to like Rap and stuff like that, but listening to the demeaning stuff it has, EEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWW! It made me not want to listen to it ever again! But i hope this helps you!
