1. my parents are against it because my family does not support music
2. i dont have drum sets...im not sure which drums to buy, since i have no experience with drums, and which are the best and cheapest to buy
3. i need drum lessons. i cant find many places near my house,and my parents wont drive me half an hour just for me to learn the drums
help!!!!! i REALLY want to learn how to play the drums...

Looks like you're really up against it. Try talking to your parents-maybe offer to do extra chores around the house, or run errands; if they see you're really serious, and willing to earn your way to lessons, and maybe someday your own drum kit, maybe they'll change their mind, and know it's not just a whim. Look in the yellow pages for drum store listings-they should be able to give you an idea on prices, etc. As for getting a ride there- see suggestions above, and good luck-
I was once where you are now, dying to get drums. It took about 3 years, but I finally got them one Christmas. There is hope!

There has got to be a place close by i mean i live in a town 20 thousand people and there are three places to learn how to drum. I think the best way would be just like to rent one for a while because drum sets are definnetly expensive. Then there is always buying books and learining for yourself that is how i learned the pianoe, guitar, dulcimer, and some drum

First, ask yourself: Why do I want to play drums? Unless you genuinely love music, you're going to get tired of it really fast.
There are things you can do to start learning drums before you even touch a drumstick. Go on youtube or something and try to find some GOOD videos of drummers, especially jazz drummers; they really know what they're doing. After you're impressed by that, listen to some of your favorite songs and just try to tap along with the rhythm. Hopefully, if you get into it enough, your parents will be convinced that you're serious.
Also, it's not very smart of your parents to be unsupportive of music. It helps with school and stuff, some colleges will give you a scholarship just to be in their band if you're good enough. Big companies usually like to hire people with some musical background. Lots of the people who DESIGNED the computers everyone uses today considered music a major part of their everyday lives.
But like I said, the first thing to do is to start listening to all the music you can, then go from there.

1. Join your schools orchestra or band if they have one, this way you can practice music at school and after school with a legitimate excuse to your parents.
2. See above, and you can use the schools sets for free
3. Ask your school's band director if they know of a student willing to give free drum lessons to you for extra credit. Never hurts to ask!!
Edit about the veins: No they don't, at least mine never did. =)
Good luck, I played the drums in middle school and my freshman year in high school and loved it. My last 3 years in high school marching band I was in the colorguard (flags). I really miss those years, enjoy them while they last.

ok. 1.if your parents are aginst it. rebel!!
2. save up your money or something, 16 or older? get a job. or if not find some way to make money.
3. it depends how you want to learn. drums has notes but i dont know if its the same as tabs. but from online just search alittle and you might find a website where you can teach your self.
or. you can ask your friend to go buy a druming book for you. and you pay them back.

electric drum pad set good place to start you can find some reasonbil priced dont take up much room and can be set to help you learn speed and cordanation,and thats what def leopard's drummer uses half his set is electric he only has one arm..
