I want to know the order in which songs are produced. Mainly hip hop. So let's say the song is written. Beat is made to fit the song.......then what? Does mixing come after that? Mastering? Promotion? How is it all done?

A song is made - first by writing the words or melody, then mixing the rhythm with the creative words/melody part of the tracks, and then mastering. Finally, the finished product is used as intended by marketing/promotion.

There is not a set standard. Sometimes the beat comes first, othertimes the vocal hook is first. It really depends on the song and artist.

The three stages of recording are (in this order):

-Tracking (Recording and sequencing all the parts)
-Mixing (Blending and Balancing all the different parts)
-Mastering (Pushing up the level of the finished mix)
