when i had my first, i had one braxton hix at 37 weeks when i put the crib together. that was it.
my second, i went into premature labor at 26 weeks, they stopped the labor, but i had braxton hicks constantly after that until 37 weeks when she was born
third, braxton hicks for the last month
fourth braxton hicks for the 7th and 8th month, she was 4 1/2 weeks early

moral...every pregnancy is different, even for the same woman....
be happy, its one less pregnancy pain you dont have to deal with, at 33 weeks you should have enough swolen ankles, emotional outbursts, concerns, and worries

best of luck to you

I am 18 wks pregnant, and this is my 3rd child. I have NEVER had braxton hix contractions. Yet the other day, in the Salon, a lady was 38 weeks, and she said that she had them constantly...I guess, that all of our bodies are truly different, and that we all don't get them. In your case, count yourself lucky. Her stomach would get as hard as a Watermelon, and then relax. For my part, I am thankful for my IN-experience.
By the way, congratulations on your new baby. (and may we never experience braxton hix)

You may be having them and just not realizing it. Sometimes they are so mild that women don't notice them. Then again, some women never experience them. I never had false contractions/labor. I felt fluish and a day later, my baby was born. So, don't worry if you aren't having any braxton hicks.

I never had them myself. The day I had any contractions they were real and I had my baby. I was overdue by 10 days as well. My cousin had them for 5 weeks and was in a lot of pain - so I would be thankful your not having them :)

Yes and No. You might be having them but they are very light. I didn't know that I had been having them the whole time. I never knew until my husband told me that my tummy kept getting hard. I couldn't feel it unless I had my hand on my stomach when it happened. About 2 weeks before I had my baby they started getting harder and stronger and more uncomfortable. Just be glad you don't have painful ones now!
