She is still only taking 4 oz at a time.. and only has about 8-9 bottles a day(from wake up to wake up) She is a tiny little thing for her age(but always has been, only 5lbs 11 oz at birth, full term)
Dr says she is fine and healthy and growing steadily,(she eats 3 full meals a day and eats till she is full) but it worries me that she hasnt started to take more than 4-5 oz at a time of formula.
I think I'm kinda confused.. should i ask my dr?

Is the amount of formula my baby drinks at a time unusual?

God bless her. Don't worry so much. Even though she is a baby, she knows when she hungry. right? Then she knows when she is full. Don't worry!!! When she wants more she will let you know that too. :)

That is a perfect amount of formula 30-35 ounces is what is generally recommended. You didn't mention how old she is. As she gets bigger, she start eating more at a time. You have to remember that her little tummy is so small and can't hold more than 4 oz at a time.

how old is she? my daughter is also very small (only barely 20 lbs and she is 18 months old). she rarely ever drank more than 4 oz at a time, even when she was 12 months old, she only wanted 4 oz at a time, although she would eat more often as she got older. if your doctor said she is fine and healthy you have nothing to worry about, shes just going to be petite.

No she sounds perfectly fine. People always think there is a one answer to how to raise kids and care for them. They are all completly different and all have different traits and ways of doing things. Don't worry and don't stress..the more clam you are the more calm your baby will be

Okay, that's actually a normal thing and everything is fine.

However, talking your doctor about it often is the best one, (that is when you have enough money to pay your doctor's time). However, you can also buy books on dealing infants for you to know more things about it.

For example this book: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1879537494/kawebspynetwo-20
