I've gone into power settings that most help sites advise me to, but the hibernate tab does'nt exist!!! this is so annoying!!! does anyone know how to stop the random hibernation attacks? it takes like 30 seconds to get the computer back up once it happens.

Umm then it's probably not hibernating, maybe it goes into sleep. Right click on your desktop, and click properties. Then go to "Screen Saver" tab and click the "Power" button. Make sure you didn't set your PC to sleep at all.

Windows ME does not support hibernating, you are right on that part, but one thing that I think that you may be getting messed up on is the difference between "Hibernating" and "Sleeping". When your computer is set to hibernate, it will not be set (via factory setting). When your computer is set to sleep, however, it will take a long time to get it to "Wake Up" because it has to re-calibrate the Hard Drive, and refresh the Desktop. The speed will vary on the age of the computer, and gow fast and/or slow it is.

I can't believe someone still actually has what Microsoft even admits as being the worst system it ever created. You need to get rid of ME ASAP. Does anything support it anymore?
