Seriously, does anyone's husband is good at listening? Mine is not even looking at me, when I am talking to him (either on the laptop or eyes on the TV). What is the best way to get the message to him to pay attention?

For some bitchy women with their mean comments - I do not nag, I want to understand the roots of this phenomena! :)

Men talk and listen differently then women. When men talk to each other, they tend to relay information or problems and propose solutoins. That's all.

Women tend to share feelings and validate each others feelings as a way of connecting, in order to form and strengthen relationships.

When women talk to men, men tend to be waiting for a point, not realizing that for the woman, the conversation is the point.

My husband is a good listener and he listens well and tries to understand me and how i feel about things. Just talk to him when he is not watching tv or on the laptop. Talk to him when things are quiet and his mind is not elsewhere. This is the best way to get him to hear you. That way there is not distractions.

Well, I find this works for both my husband and my not quite three year old. If I want to make sure they hear what I say, I start the statement with their name. When they look at me, then I say what I need to. Overall, he listens pretty well, but I know not to even try talking to him when 24 is on.

My husband, despite the fact he's playing video games or watching a movie, can repeat everything I had been talking about perfectly. So, I don't complain too much anymore and just realize he takes information in differently than I do.

No!! and i will say that again, NO!!!
If I say I dont want you talking to that girl cause she is very disrespectful to me, he hears I want to control your every move so cut out every chick in the world.
If I say my favorite flowers are carnations, he brings me roses.
If I say I like to be carressed from behind, he just throws me down and skipps the carressing part.
If I say the car needs oil, he says why didnt you tell me as the car is blowing a gasket.
The weird part is that if another woman tells him the same things I say, he listens. But as far as hearing it from me, his wife, he is a terrible listener.

I try very hard to listen to what my wife has to say, if I am busy and I don't hear what she asked, even though I know it upsets her, I will put down what I'm doing and ask her to repeat what she said. Because I want to know what she wask talking about.

I used to be really bad about not listening to her. But now I try very hard to listen to her when she's talking about something with me.

Oh my hunny always listens to me, that is one of my favorite things about him! No matter what I am saying to him he listens and responds with ACTUAL answers/comments. He is the best when it comes to listening and taking in what I am saying. Good luck with yours...

Don't nag. Mine listens, I don't nag, complain, or b*tch about something when I'm talking to him. What's that going to accomplish?

Hmm...Did I say that you nag? I was generalizing. Geez, grow the hell up. I wouldn't listen to you either.
